Sheikh Khalifa, Ruler of the UEA.

The tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai is named after Sheikh Khalifa, president of the United Arab Emirates and ruler of Abu Dhabi. He has clearly a vision and a plan. “And which is more,” Peter Engels says, “Sheikh Khalifa has a character face that has to be painted in my ‘Vintage’ style: in sepia colors and with the palette knife.”

Title of the painting: “Guggenheim And Louvre In My Backyard”
In the background of the painting Peter Engels has painted the prestigeous new Guggenheim Museum (left), The Louvre (the dome in the middle) and the Theatre of Performing Arts (right) on Saadiyat Island. Peter Engels: “One of the huge Emirates projects is Saadiyat Island, until a couple of years ago just a desert island. Now it is a beautifull new world city.”

Peter Engels: “Sheikh Khalifa is not only a man with great vision, he has also a great character head. I want to paint those two features. I want to paint his soul.”
