Brigitte Bardot with strawhat

Brigitte Bardot loves her portrait painting by Peter Engels. He created the art piece during Knokke Art weekend at the Never Give Up art gallery. It was sold the day it was finished.

It was only in 2019 that I painted my second Brigitte Bardot portrait. Title: “Brigitte Bardot with straw hat”. I painted the portrait in the art gallery where I had an exhibition. I invented a totally new image of Brigitte Bardot that does not exist as a photo. The painting is accompanied by a painted quote that says: “Rien n’est jamais à refaire. Mais tout reste à faire.” (“Nothing is ever to be done again. But everything remains to be done.”). The special thing about this painting of Brigitte Bardot with the straw hat is the sun light that shines through the holes of the hat and lights up her skin. It is a painting full of light, shade, balance and movement of which I am very proud. The painting was still wet when it was sold the same day when it was finished to a resident of a Knokke penthouse. The Brigitte Bardot portrait has full view on the North Sea.
