Intimates of Jordanian Queen Rania commissioned Belgian artist Peter Engels to create her sculpture. The impressive metal sculpture of this remarkable lady was flown to the capital of Amman. Queen Rania was so pleased with this unique artwork that she wrote a warm letter to Peter Engels.

Peter Engels: “I was working on my next sculpture when a courier delivered the beautiful envelope with golden crown from the Jordanian royal court. Queen Rania’s appreciation was heartwarming.”

“Dear Mr. Engels, Allow me to thank you for creating the beautiful sculpture that was gifted to me by my friends. It humbles and honours me that you, one of the most innovative and talented artists of our time, have created this piece for me. I have no doubt that you will continue to inspire generations of artists to come. I hope that in the future our paths will cross and until then, may you be blessed with health and happiness.”

The Jordan Queen Rania sculpture by Peter Engels is coloured lavender purple, her favorite colour. The great thing about the sculptures by Peter English is the interaction of the metal image with the background and with light. The images are at their best with a light and monochrome background. Sunlight can provide wonderful shadows, all day long.
